Carbon steel – powder-coated steel grating

Powder Coated Steel Bar Grating is a premium, heat-cured industrial flooring solution made from high-quality carbon steel (ASTM A36, Q235B, Q355B, S275JR). It features bearing bars 20–150 mm deep and 3–20 mm thick, with twisted square cross bars in meshes like 30×100 mm. Panels are forge-welded or manually welded, precision-cut with CAD-based ID numbering, and finished with durable electrostatic powder coating (60–100 microns) in any RAL color for superior scratch, chip, and fade resistance.

Powder Coated Steel Bar Grating

High-Durability Heat-Cured Industrial Flooring

1. Product Overview

Our powder coated steel bar grating is the premium choice for environments requiring superior coating thickness, exceptional wear resistance, and a high-quality aesthetic finish. Unlike standard painting, our powder coating process involves electrostatically applying a dry resin powder to the carbon steel, followed by heat-curing at 200°C. This creates a tough, “plastic-like” barrier that is significantly more resistant to chipping, scratching, and fading. Integrated with our CAD-design-to-build workflow, each panel is precision-fabricated, numbered, and coated to provide a long-lasting, colorful, and maintenance-free flooring system.

Engineering Notes:

1.Standards Compliance: Manufactured to meet ANSI/NAAMM (MBG 531) standards for structural grid reliability.

2.Heat-Cured Durability: The powder coating is cured in high-temperature ovens, creating a cross-linked polymer finish that outperforms liquid paint in hardness and chemical resistance.

3.Pre-Treatment: Every panel undergoes a multi-stage cleaning and degreasing process before coating to ensure the powder bonds permanently to the steel.

4.Custom Fabrication: All cutting, drilling, and Kick-plate welding are completed prior to coating to ensure the polymer seal is continuous and unbroken across all edges.

3. Product Advantages

1.Full-Scale Deep Customization: We manufacture directly from your CAD files. Our manual welding team handles irregular shapes, circular penetrations, and complex notches, ensuring a factory-perfect fit that requires zero on-site modification.

2.Extreme Coating Toughness: Powder coating provides a much thicker and more impact-resistant finish than standard paint. It resists the daily wear and tear of foot traffic and equipment movement, maintaining its color and protective properties longer.

3.Vibrant Safety Colors: Available in a vast range of RAL colors. Use high-visibility safety yellow or orange for platforms and stairs to enhance site safety and comply with visibility requirements.

4.Environmentally Friendly & Uniform: The electrostatic process ensures a perfectly uniform finish even in the corners of the grid, with no drips or runs, while being a more eco-friendly alternative to solvent-based paints.

4. Applications & Engineering Scenarios

1.Commercial Mezzanines & Retail Floors: Provides a high-end, colorful look for public-facing industrial designs and architectural interiors.

2.Safety Walkways & Stair Treads: High-visibility safety yellow grating for emergency exits, ladders, and machinery maintenance paths.

3.Indoor Cleanrooms & Lab Platforms: The smooth, non-porous powder finish is easier to clean and resistant to many mild industrial chemicals.

4.Material Handling Facilities: Durable flooring for sorting centers and conveyor walkways where aesthetics and wear resistance are equally important.

5. Quality Control (Practical & Reliable)

1.Drawing Alignment Audit: Every panel is 100% verified against the CAD layout to ensure all custom dimensions and ID tags are correct.

2.Curing & Adhesion Test: Periodic checks to ensure the powder has fully cross-linked during the baking process, preventing peeling or cracking under stress.

3.Uniformity Inspection: Visual audit of every grid intersection to ensure the powder has encapsulated all weld beads and hidden corners.

4.Final ID Coding Check: Each panel is cross-referenced with the Layout Map using its unique identification number for error-free delivery.

6. Customization & Engineering Services

1.CAD Layout & Panel ID System: We perform a secondary CAD design based on your project drawings. Each panel is assigned a unique ID number for rapid on-site “puzzle” assembly.

2.“Ready-to-Install” Delivery: Your shipment arrives with a master layout map. Workers simply place panels according to their ID numbers, saving massive amounts of labor time.

3.Cut-outs & Optional Kick-plates: We perform all complex shaping in-house. Upon customer request, we weld 100mm-150mm Kick-plates (Toe-boards) around openings. This customization is performed before coating to ensure the entire assembly is fully protected.

4.Premium RAL Matching: We offer precise color matching to meet your specific safety codes or corporate architectural standards.

7. FAQ

Q: How does Powder Coating compare to standard Painting?

A: Powder coating is much harder and more durable. Because it is baked onto the steel, it doesn’t scratch or chip as easily as liquid paint, making it better for high-traffic areas.

Q: Is Powder Coated grating suitable for outdoor use?

A: While powder coating offers good protection, for permanent outdoor or high-moisture use, we still recommend Hot-Dip Galvanizing. However, for indoor or sheltered environments, powder coating provides excellent longevity and color.

Q: Can I cut the grating on-site?

A: We strongly recommend against it. Cutting breaks the heat-cured seal and can lead to rust at the edges. Our CAD Customization service is designed to provide you with pre-cut, factory-finished panels that fit perfectly without site-work.

Q: Why do you put ID numbers on the panels?

A: To save you money on installation. Instead of workers spending hours measuring and trying to find where each panel fits, they just follow the map. It’s faster and prevents mistakes.

In summary, Powder Coated Steel Bar Grating combines exceptional durability, vibrant color options, and precise customization for indoor applications such as commercial mezzanines, safety walkways, cleanrooms, and material handling facilities. Its tough, uniform finish enhances aesthetics, safety visibility, and wear resistance while enabling fast, error-free installation via factory ID systems and pre-cut panels.
